They said no you couldn't put it in the middle?
Times have changed. It's funny that with all these rules and laws we have now that any of us from the 70's and 80's survived our childhood. Some cars didn't even have seatbelts!!!

Re: anyone else have a compact car bc...
I'm so confused. Did they say why you can't have the seat in the middle? This is bothering me now. I've had DD in the middle since day 1 and she still is. I was told it was fine when she was born.

Re: anyone else have a compact car bc...
i think it all depends on your car. i have a 10 yr old honda civic and he said the passenger side was the best for my car.
my dh has a new nissan and put it in the middle and when inspected they said no...passenger side. this was the nassau county safety place so i figure they know best

I have a Jeep Liberty and I have the same issue.
When we had the install inspected, they prefer that we installed it in the middle god forbid someone hit us on the side.
I'm going to move it to the middle since I drive that car daily. But when the 3 of us are out we will have to move it to the side bc DH is 6'4 and pushes the seat all the way back.

Re: anyone else have a compact car bc...
i had that for the first 7 months, i had a mustang! i had DS behind the passenger and even the smallest skinniest person couldnt fit in the passenger seat. if i had to take someone with me i would just use DH's truck. ive since gotten rid of my mustang ( ) but still have a small car, versa hatchback, but its a little better.
