Anyone else get strange emails?
Lately I have been getting a lot of shady emails about Trust funds in different country's, or PayPal wanting me to contact them about a billing issue. (I have never had a PayPal account, and have never used them) I usually erase most of them without even opening it. I am afraid of getting a computer virus. I never used to get these emails, but the last two months, I have gotten a lot. I get the PayPal one every day in my bulk mail. What's going on?

Do you think the PayPal one is too? My DH says they probably are looking for people to respond back and give out their info.

yes. if you think an email is false, you can forward it to [email protected] i copied this directly from the paypal website:
"Forward fakes to [email protected]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Together we can help stop fraud.
If you think you’ve received a phishing email: Forward the email to [email protected] Delete the email Be on the safe side Go to the My Account tab and click History to check your transaction history for inaccuracies."

The Paypal one is almost definitely a scam. I usually forward the email to Paypal. They've sent me back so many emails stating that this was a phishing email and that I should not give my info out.

Re: Anyone else get strange emails?
I didn't get any spam emails, but my Ebay and PayPal was just hacked
I had to contest a $50 charge and change all p'words. Paypal resolved it and returned my $50.

Yeah, now I am wondering why I am getting these emails all of a sudden. You need to give your info out to so many things now adays. You never know who is looking at it. It is scary!!!

Re: Anyone else get strange emails?
Paypal will never ask you to log into your account from an email--- if you EVER need to log into PayPal, type it directly in your address bar- or access it from your eBay/business account. Even if a link says "PayPal.com" from an email- DO NOT open it. The spoofs can look very legitimate-- those scammers are gettin' good...

Most ISPs have good spam filters, but it seems like the spammers recently found a way around the filters. We've been getting a lot more at work recently, too. In a little while, all the spam blockers will catch up, and block this new wave.... then the spammers will figure out another way through...

The paypal one is definitely a scam. I received two of those emails in the last week. Report it to paypal ASAP and erase it!
