Anyone else get short of breath

I don't know if it's because of my cold too, but at times I am just so short of breath.

I also feel like I have heart palpatations.

I go to the dr thursday, so I'll mention it, but I do know it's apart of pregnancy tooChat Icon

Re: Anyone else get short of breath

YES!! I am so glad you wrote this because I have been feeling it really bad lately. Out of breath, my heart racing, even when I speak sometimes I get out of breath. This all only started for me about a week and a half ago. It also makes me feel really, really tired. I hate this feeling! My Drs. told me to make sure I really keep up on my fluids. Even if I'm just lying in bed sometimes my heart is racing like crazy. They also told me to sleep on my left side.

I am only 18 weeks and I can only imagine how I will be later on in the pregnancy. I don't know how I'm going to make it through 5 more months! Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else get short of breath

I was bad with the left side thing, but when this started I am making sure I stay to my left. I do drink fluids.....hence why I pee at least 4 times a nightChat Icon

I am so glad I am not alone with this!

I get out of breath every once in a while and sometimes my heart races. I was told it was totally normal.

Re: Anyone else get short of breath

All the time!! I just walked up the subway stairs and thought i was going to pass out! At night I have a hard time sleeping because the baby is situated ina weird position that feel like he is restricting my breathing - I am only 30 weeks so I can't imagine what is going to happen the next weeks!

Re: Anyone else get short of breath

Definitely have shortness of breath here at 12 weeks. Especially when I'm at work and I'm walking around fast looking for someone/something and then I go to have a convo, I feel like I can't get it all out.

It's the increase and decrease in hormones. The other reason is that the baby might be high and on your diaphram. When the baby drops you'll get some relief. I carried very high with DS and so I was always out of breath. This little guy is lower but I still get light headed and dizzy. I'm sorry that you are feeling this as well.

Re: Anyone else get short of breath

all the time! I feel s hort of breath, and I also feel like my heart is POUNDING at times. I did have some tests done, and am waiting for results (Holter moniter, echocardiogram, ekg). The cardiologist and my OB are pretty sure it's all totally normal, but did tests just to be sure. They say it's probbaly due to hormones, or increased blood volume. don't worry... and feel bettter!

Re: Anyone else get short of breath

I had shortness of breath, heart palpataions and dizziness shortly after eating when I was pregnant. It started about 20 weeks and lasted until the end. I had reactive hypoglycemia though. That could be a cause if it's happening after you eat. Mine was especially worse in the morning.
