Anyone else get a little queasy
When they start reading into giving birth too much
I hate needles. With DS I had a crash c so was put out. That wasn't fun at all, but I never did get an epi or spinal.
I remember watching the birth stories at the hospital for classes and I was getting light headed then I think I was the only one and was thinking... how could these women watch this. Blah!
I can't look at needles at all. Surprised I handled the hospital so well. Even when they put in the IV I didn't like it...
Ugh! I'm such a wimp. I want to know all about the spinal that I'll be getting, but then I make myself ill

Re: Anyone else get a little queasy
I hate:
-driving past the hospital -IV bags, pee bags, tubes -surgical instruments, etc
funny part is - I'd love to be a doctor. I just don't want anything done to ME.
I had a crash c, also...and I am a big wimp...the epidural was nothing - if that makes you feel any better.
Sometimes I feel when things are unplanned, they are easier to deal with...it's when you KNOW what to expect that makes things harder...too much time to think!!

Re: Anyone else get a little queasy
yep,
and my solution is to NOT read anything on giving birth! I def don't read other's stories about it either. I don't see the point. You never know what's going to happen and it's different for everyone... so why get all worked up over something that happened to someone else that might not even happen to you?
I just skip this part in books and all. I trust my dr guidance on this matter... and I'm just going to go with the flow. I will do much better not knowing what I'm in for. I don't need the unnecessary anxiety over it all. And I sure don't need to stress about it from now until i give birth.
so that's my take on it!

Re: Anyone else get a little queasy
I had a bad anesthesiologist for DS#2. I brought the fear of the spinal up to OB and he told me that doctor wasn't there anymore. I feel a little better, but thinking about that one makes me

Re: Anyone else get a little queasy
I'm MOST scared of the spinal... I'm scared that I will wince when the dr. is about to poke me and he'll miss.. I'm scared that I won't be able to hold still and it will be too late, I'm scared that I'll have a backachce for the rest of my life..
If I can build up enough courage and do it w/o meds, I think I'll be calmer.. I'm terrified of needles.

Re: Anyone else get a little queasy
as far as the spinal, ive had the same injections on my back recently...i was half awake for the most recent one and i felt a tiny pinch, so i already know what that's like at least...
as far as the blood....and the actual birth part....i'm a little scared. not dreading it but it has me a little anxious.

Re: Anyone else get a little queasy
I loathe hospitals..when we went for the tour I flipped...but once there I couldn't care less what was going on..I wanted my epi I wanted the baby out and once she was here I was just in a crazy haze of delirious happiness that I didn't care where I was
