Anyone else...
...feel bad for their dog?? He is not even 2 yet, and I cant help but feel bad that he has no IDEA how his world is going to change. He is SUCH a mush, and lays on the couch with me every night (DH works late),and is just my little buddy, and I feel terrible that I'll be away from him while in the hospital, and then be with the baby all the time when we get home.
I know he'll be good to the baby, and that in a few years he'll prob be her little buddy, but I just don't want him to feel abandoned...
I also know that this is mostly pregnancy hormones talking... but still...
Anyone else feel bad for their pet??

Re: Anyone else...
I have 2 and I think about them all the time. Everytime they are lying with me i tell them "mommy promises to love you just the same when your brother/sister comes." They are like our children now. They go everywhee with us from holidays to our annual trip to Boston and they are going to D.C this summer. When my sis found out I am preg. she said "What are you gonna do now? Travel with the kids and the dogs or are you going to leave them home now?" Ummmmm....."no." I want to keep eveything close to the same for my furbabies.

yes, i worry about that too. our pug is a loveable mush and she just always wants to be around us. I know she will be great with them bc she is great with kids, but I do feel bad that she may not get as much attention as she does now.

Re: Anyone else...
You're not alone! My little girl Maya is my first baby, I was a single mom to her, met DH when she was 2 and we're a happy little family.
We travel with her also, she's a very important part of our lives. I worry about her feeling left but I think we'll do our best to show her love. Once LO is here and ready for power walks in the stroller, think of how much the pup will enjoy coming along for the bonding and exercise. That always cheers me up

Re: Anyone else...
My dogs have been my life up until now!
I'm a little sad for the older one (7 yr old pit), but I'm excited for my little guy (1 yr old lab)......he's about to get a new best friend. I can't wait to see how they grow up with each other!!
I fully expect that both dogs will sleep at door and protect him like they do for me!

Re: Anyone else...
yes my little kitty.. he rules the roost now, and he's a skiddish fella.. so i'm little concerned how a tiny crying baby will affect him.. i hope he can come out of it and play the role of big brother without too many issues..
