Anyone do Disney in April/May?
Are the crowds typically ok (besides the Easter week)? Is the weather too hot (over 90)? We want to go when it is warm enough to use the pool mid-day but not crazy hot that you cant walk around the parks without dripping sweat all day.
Any other events this time of year that effect crowds? All I saw was the Garden festival at Epcot but thinking this isn't a huge draw (not like food and wine)?
TIA

Easter and spring breaks. It depends on the year. We went in April one year and it was considered a low crowd week. It was high 90's, higher than average Temps for that time of year. We had higher than normal temperatures the yeae we went in March too.

We went the week after Mother's Day this year. The weather was glorious! Warm enough to use the pool, but not so hot you were dripping.

Re: Anyone do Disney in April/May?
We've been the first week of May twice and both times it was boiling hot. 90s every day. I have no heat tolerance so it was too much for me.

Re: Anyone do Disney in April/May?
It's one of my favorite times to go, hot enough for pool, crowds are not crazy (Just make sure you don't go spring break week).
I am looking to go first week of May again next year
Cheer Comp is the weekend of the 6th so my plan is to go weekend before and leave when that starts.

Weve been the past two years the week of Mother's Day. The heat is still a lot for us and the kids but we love the lower crowds. We do love the pool and beaches, so I probably would not visit during the cooler temps.

Re: Anyone do Disney in April/May?
We always go the last week of April/first week of May and it's the perfect time. The crowds are light and it's not too hot, but hot enough to use the pools.

I went in April during Spring Break once. Crowds were insane but the weather was warm.

Re: Anyone do Disney in April/May?
As long as you avoid Easter/spring break, the crowds are relatively low. The parks will always be more crowded on the weekends.
Weather-wise, we've gone the last week of March/first week of April and needed a light jacket in the mornings and evenings, but the middle of the day was warm enough for swimming (but not too hot). Obviously, the later in the month, the warmer it is, and usually by the end of April, there is no longer a need for a jacket.
Crowds start picking up the closer to Memorial Day you get. The first and second weeks of May are usually pretty light and not unbearably hot.
I think out of 5-6 May trips, there's only been 1 where it was uncomfortably hot and humid.

Re: Anyone do Disney in April/May?
Our first trip to Disney was in late April. Weather was perfect and crowds were low. We didn't use any FP back then and didn't have to wait long. Mornings were warm and not too hot. Then we swam every afternoon.
2017 has an April easter though so crowds will be high in mid-late April.

Just make sure you're hydrated because it can get hot that time of year. DH and I were there in May of 2005 (we were dating then) and I wound up with heat exhaustion because we went to Animal Kingdom and I had no water (stupidly). I have never been so sick.

Re: Anyone do Disney in April/May?
We went the third and fourth week of April last year and the weather was PERFECT but the crowds were 8/9/10 when they were supposed to be 4/5/6 levels. Disappointing, but with a good touring plan we worked through it. We're going at the end of January next year.
