Anybody have or ever have a Range Rover with kids?
I'm wondering about the cargo space and legroom with a carseat and stroller and whatnot. Of course the sales person tells us that people have no problem whatsoever but when I look up the specs it seems very similar to my car now and I know that when the infant seat is in, the front passenger seat has to be pushed pretty far up. Plus, when I have the stroller in the trunk and a few other baby related items, there really isn't much room for anything else. I'm curious to hear from some moms/dads who can give me an opinion from personal experience.
We were told we could bring the baby's seat and take it for a test drive but I honestly don't want to bother getting into it and having to deal with a pushy sales person if it's going to be a waste of time.
TIA

My sister-in-law did.
It gets terrible mileage and I found getting in and out of the back seat of a RR was hard. I bang myself if I am not careful. The front seat's fine, but not the back if you are tall.
If you really want one, be sure you try it carefully. Bring all the things you would use regularly, ignore the salesman - ask him to step away, and try loading them into it yourself. Consider how long you might keep it and how big your kids might get. I found as my kids grew they had increasingly less leg room in the back seat of a small Mercedes car I used to have, so I got a bigger one. I still have it 11 years later and now they drive it.

We had an 06 RR Sport (we've since sold it). It was roomy enough, but was not any better size wise in comparison to my Murano. Honestly, as nice as the trucks are, they are a A real money pit in terms of maintenance and needing tires so often.

ITA with this-we test drove one (DH loves them). We have a Volvo XC90 and tires were like 1200.00 so I bet RR are similar or even more.

We are looking into the full size, although I'm not sure it makes that much of a difference as far as cargo space. I have a Jeep Commander now which seems like it would be big enough but it's not. Our other option is the Escalade which is definitely the more practical choice but I've always wanted a RR and I figured I'd get some opinions before ruling it out completely. I'm thinking it might be better to wait until we don't have any kids in car seats.
Thanks for the input

Thanks! We plan on leasing our next SUV so we probably would only have it a few years. Deep down I know it's not the best choice for us right now but it's definitely one of my top choices personally. If we do test drive one, I am definitely going to bring the stroller and car seat to try it out.

I don't have personal experience but I know a couple that have had RR for a long while, now with older daughters (college aged and older) still drive RR.
They now have the LR4 and love it.

I drive a Land Rover - the storage space is good, the gas mileage STINKS. Overall i like it, but wouldn't get another one.

dh has a range rover and hates it, can't wait to get rid of it
we have twins, so two car seats, forward facing are fine, plenty of room, infant rear facing i'm pretty sure were fine too, i don't remember dh being pushed too far up and our double stroller fit in the trunk

Re: Anybody have or ever have a Range Rover with kids?
I had an '09 RR sport when DD was born. She was in an infant seat so the leg room in back did not matter much. The trunk space was not great. I had a bugaboo chameleon and had to lay it sideways to fit. I now drive something different. But... DH now drives a RR sport (I think it's a 2011.) DD is now three and faces foward in a convertible car seat. The front passenger seat is all the way foward. I can barely fit my legs in! And she is still kicking the back of the seat with her dirty shoes! We usually don't leave the stroller in DH's car, but now it just clears. Needless to say if we decide on having another child we will pick a different truck. Good luck.

After you put the stroller in the trunk - would you say you still have room for other stuff (i.e., groceries)?

Are you talking about the full size or the sport?

Thanks for posting your experience. I'm just wondering if the full size makes any difference . I have the problem right now with the front passenger seat in my current car and that is definitely something I need to avoid so thanks for sharing!
