Impossible to reach?! I swear my DH never answers his cell phone.. it's maddening.
By the time I get in touch with him I'm mad at him.

I dont bother, I WONT speak to him while he works, Its like talking to a wall. I told him the kitchen was on fire( it wasnt) and he kept right on working, never even heard me.

Same boat for me. I could call 92 times in a row because of an emergency and he'll call be back when he feels.
But, if I don't hear my phone ring and I call him back 10 minutes later, that's it I get the "what's the point of having a phone if you don't answer it anyway"

DW calls me on my cell on occasion, but my reception usually isn't that good. If I have enough of a signal to answer the phone, but it's breaking up, I'll tell her to call my office. If my reception is totally shot, she'll call my office phone if it's important. If she leaves a message, I'll call her back as soon as I get it. There are some occasions when I'm in a meeting, so I can't call her back for about an hour.
We also email if needed. (Sent DW an email this morning, actually)

Add me to the bunch...except DH doesn't answer the house phone either if he's sleeping, he claims he doesn't hear it. He called me 92 times a day...but if I want to call him to check on the baby, I get a 70% chance of hearing the voice of the answering machine

yep- story of my life
and I have gotten the "call" 2 times- about being in the hospital or on his way
I have make my self relax b/c if I don't I will be in the hospital (the mental hospital)
you would think after what he has put me thru- he would call more often!

DH has 2 freakin' cell phones and never answers either one during the day. Although he's usually roaming a hospital O.R. or some other basement department that has no service so it's really not his fault but it's terribly aggrivating.
He FLIPS when I don't answer mine. He automatically assumes the worst possible thing (ie: accident, sick,) *sigh*

I leave my phone on silent at night. I sometimes forget to turn the sound back on. I get yelled at for that occassionally.

 Happy to know this is NOT just my life !! - Although I have to admit, refusing to answer my phone or "not hearing it ring" has made me feel MUCH better about the whole thing - DH isn't going to change, so, if you can't be 'em, join 'em ........ - (not exactly mature, I know - but sometimes you just have to play the game to keep your sanity) If it's any real emergency I figure he'll leave a message -

absolutely, he never answers and if he does he is so preoccupied he doesn't hear a thing i say
but if he's bored he'll call me a thousand times with nothing to say, and i am a teacher so if i'm with a class i won't answer it, which he knows, but he'll still keep calling

Total agreement with everyone. My DH has two cell phones ... one personal and one for work ... and he never answers either one. He's always "too busy" to chat ... unless it's beneficial to him. Drives me crazy .......................

My DH also answers his cell duing the day as long as he can do it safely and if the connection stinks if he can he'll find a landline & call me back!
