Any moms make cakes?!
The girl who was supposed to make my DS's 1st birthday cake just told me she can't do it anymore because she's leaving earlier than expected for vacation.... the party is next Sunday 9/4!! 
I really don't want to spend a fortune through a bakery but was looking forward to having a cute custom cake to go with DS's Dr. Seuss theme. If I have to end up doing something plain through BJ's or Stop & Shop I can live with it but just thought I'd reach out to the LIF crew to see if anyone does this and would take me on last minute!

Is Stew Leonard's still open? They have a printing machine for cakes. I upload any image & they print... Have done Sheriff Callie, carousel, pirate, & captain America.
Cake is made the AM of and is typically delicious.
Can't beat the cost (1/2 sheet $40).

you can get a cake at stop and shop with a theme. it's not one of those custom fondant cakes but they are typially cute and tasty and god

Thanks for the recommendations. I know the stores will do one that won't cost an arm and a leg but I know people do it as a side business for way less than a bakery would charge. Figured I'd try here first but good to know I have some last minute options.

Have you tried on ur local mom board on fb? Mine is always posting about moms who do cakes, cake pops, cookies etc..
BTW kinda shi**Y this person bailed on you with a week to go. Id call them out! =)

Seriously!! I was like, really?! one week out from the party and NOW you realize you can't do it?! wtf... very annoying. I'll try FB also :)
