Any Meeting Planners out there?
Hi -
I work for a hotel company and we are working on a campaign to attract group/meeting business and I need to find more places to advertise our promotions.
I was just wondering how you find your venues where you hold the meetings? Any special websites you use?
Thanks, Christine

My friend TwinMama(you met her!) used to be a meeting planner-you should FM her
My advice would be to join a meeting planners association-go to tradeshows, buy a list of meeting planners and send them invites for a hospitality weekend for them and a guest..

Bizbash helps me look for new interesting places. I am also invited to a special dinner/lunch/reception for a new place.

Re: Any Meeting Planners out there?
i used to do event planning for a large wall street firm!
i loved being sent certificates for free meals! seriously, it was a great way for us as planners to sample the food and meet with the event staff before planning events. i also liked presents! big baskets of goodies at the holidays!
as a hotel i would have liked a free night and free meal certificate!
the '21' club used to host a big dinner in their wine cellar a couple times a year for all the major event planners...that was fun, but i preferred the certificates for free meals because then i could go with dh.
