If someone signed a contract, when they were working full time, stating that they could not sell "x" (which is what the company sells) for a certain number of years after they leave the company, would the contract be voided if that employee was bumped down to part-time?

I'm not a lawyer, but I do work in contracts. I don't believe the contract would be void unless it specifically contained language that stated the terms of the contract (including not selling the product) were only valid if the terms of employment (full time/part time) don't change. If it doesn't specify anywhere that the contract has anything to do with working full time or part time, I would maintain that the terms would still stand. But like I said, I'm not a lawyer - if that's not the answer you want to hear, a lawyer may be able to better advise you.

I can speak to our contracts attorney's tomorrow. They are not employment attorneys but they are contracts.
Also was it stated in the contract that they were employed full-time?
My guess is they're going to need to see the contracts before they'll answer.
