any Jewish peeps...a Curb your Enthusiam query

so, I was watching last night, an old episode that I have seen before.

In the epi, Larry and Cheryl are renewing their vows.

In typical Larry fashion, his mouth gets him in to trouble, this time with a rabbi...trying to fix the situation, he starts quoting from the bible, stating "he knows not..he doesnt' know", actually quoting Jesus (speaking of Judas) to the rabbi.

then later, when they are about to break the glass and Mazel Tov, Larry stomps too quickly and the rabbi's hand gets crushed in the glass.

his hand bleeding profusely, the rabbi exclaims "Jesus" and then runs out of the synagogue to clean himself up.

I just thought it was hysterical the whole thing, but then it made me wonder if, in fact, a rabbi could or would say "Jesus" like that.

I wasn't sure if that was part of the joke as well.

I thought it was brilliant, in any event.
