any drs or nurses...sleep apnea question (or anyone that may know!)

DS#1 was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and had about 8 apneas per hour during his REM sleep. He had his tonsils and aednoids out and he is doing much better.

Now DS#2 was just diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and has about 10 apneas per hour during his REM sleep. With DS#1, I never got the printed results because the dr gave them to me over the phone.

For DS#2, I went to see the dr, and he said that in the 4 hours and 58 minutes that the test was performed, my son had 170 arousals This is totally throwing me off, because I don't know much about them, but 170 seems like a CRAZY amount...

Can anyone explain it to me?
