Ants in apartment
I live in complex and we have ants. like ridiculous numbers of ants. ive asked neighbors, they have them too. it is getting worse. there were just a bunch INSIDE me dishwasher. they are in every room. I called the office, theysaid the eexterminator comes once amonth, the 28th of may. am I being unreasonable to demand he come sooner? I feel I should be able to sit on my couch without ants crawling on my arm. should I start taking pictures? im so angry.

ants are everywhere this year... get some raid.. we have had our exterminator here 3x already this month and i still go through a can of raid a week

We had a ridiculous amount a few weeks ago DH spayed the foundation with ortho home defenece as well as inside under the baseboards Etc and we put Terro ant traps every where(especially where I saw an over abundance of them) have only seen 2 or 3 since

Last year we had ants like crazy. We got a bunch of those terro liquid ant baits. It took a couple days but they were completely eradicated!

Ant baits and boric acid along the seams of your apartment should keep them out. It's frustrating.

I would put down some Terro traps. You have to deal with a swarm of ants for a few days. Don't kill them, they'll bring the poison back to the nest & kill the queen that's laying the eggs.

The terro ant traps are the best. We've tried raid and other traps and the only ones that worked great were the terro traps. Its gross for a few days but then they are GONE

I think she probably meant someone in your complex..not you.

Oh ants...yeah this is my life. Every year our complex gets them. Nothing to do with a dirty apartment though. Once they have been in your apartment (the one scout, who may have found a crumb or two) they communicate by scent trails and swarm.
Our landlord said they would have someone come spray but it never helps. I cant have them spray indoors because of my son and dog. So, in past years I have used baits and cleaned the floors often. The natural stuff: pepper, etc doesnt seem to work. The chalk trick works but you have to put a lot down. They will not go on chalk so if you draw a line with chalk, they will not cross it. The baits are good, but you will have a very disgusting swarm for a day or two.
In the future, if you see one of two lone ants wandering around, kill it/them. They are the scouts. Thats what I did and we had a lot less to contend with this year. Then wash the area they were crawling on with vinegar, that will erase the scent trail.
Im a little mini expert after so many years.

This! The Terro traps worked amazingly well! This year The ants started early so we called someone in.

That is ridiculous - they need to have the person come sooner and address the ant issue specifically.
The best thing to do, for yourself, which is effective and cheap is to spray and put powder down at the foundation... the doors, the front/back, etc. This is if you are ground level. If you are not ground level then by your door that leads up to your apartment.
At any store like ACE, Home Depot, etc. they sell a powder specifically for ants that directs you on the can to apply it directly at the foundation, where the ground meets the entryway (doors, foundation of the entire home if you lived in a home, etc) and then I also like to spray... I would do the spray first - same thing, it is a spray designed to kill ants and you spray it right at ANY place where there's access to your living space that meets the ground. So, my DH has done this, and he sprays the entire area first and then reinforces it with the powder.
You could just do one or the other but I like both because it lasts.
They will be GONE in a jiffy, it's great.
It is also relatively inexpensive if the apartment complex keeps giving you a hard time until when the guy comes on the 28th.
If your place is ground level, it is better b/c then you can really get the entire area of your apartment at the foundation and you'll see best results.
