Re: ANTS ANTS ANTS!
First, get ant traps and set them in corners in the area where you are finding them.
If it's hard wood floor or tile areas, clean, scrub, bleach etc incase they are attracted to something sticky on the floor, or crumbs.
And then go outside to the area of the house you are finding them and spray insect spray and set up an ant trap out there as well.
Hopefully this will clear it up.

The combat traps work really well. I have bought them at Target and Home Depot. Put them on the inside and outside of the house.

Get Terro Traps. There is nothing better. They have them at home depot, ace hardware, etc.

Re: ANTS ANTS ANTS!
They usually follow each other in lines, so you should be able to trace them back to where they're coming in.
Interesting fact: they won't cross baby powder. So if you find the source and it's small enough and out of the way, you can put down a line of baby powder.
I've always used the traps too, and although they don't work overnight, they do work.
My parents were finding them coming in from a bush that was growing up against their house. Once they trimmed the bush, it wasn't as bad anymore.

I agree. I've ordered them online. They work in a few days & you have to deal with a swarm of ants & not kill them so they take the poison back to the nest. Terro

We bought ours quickly at Walmart, but you can get lots of insecticide for outside nowadays with the Spring/summer stuff at all the stores.

Another Terro fan. I have used both the liquid and traps. Love them. The problem will get a little worse as the trail of ants goes crazy over the stuff, then nothing. You'll find a few dead ones, but most will die back at the nest. A few days after putting out Terro and your problem should be over. I bought Terro at Home Depot.

I remember reading about this stuff last year on here. I think I'm going to get some to keep on hand...just in case!

Re: ANTS ANTS ANTS!
I can't deal with the traps. Last year I got some pellet thing from HD that you sprinkle around your house - that seemed to work (although I started seeing ants this week too so I'll have to do it again)
I also trimmed a tree that was close to the window that they were coming in from and that helped.
the big ones are the carpenter ants

Re: ANTS ANTS ANTS!
Slash them with some Vinegar and then put some extra vinegar down on the spots where you think they're coming from. Also try the raid ant spray.

Re: ANTS ANTS ANTS!
i cant use any of the insecticides basically because i have animals and i dont want them getting into ant bait. i use baking soda. sprinkle it all around where the ants are coming from. if you can find the hill sprinkle it all over the hill too. it works great just remember to replace it after it rains.
