Antigua
I just booked our 10 year vow renewal trip at the Verandah Resort and Spa in Antigua.
Has anyone been to this resort?
Any one been to Antigua? Can you recommend any shopping? Excursions? We are traveling with a group and have people of all ages coming, including children. Any info would be super helpful!
Thanks!

Re: Antigua
DH and I went to Antigua for our Honeymoon 2 years ago. We stayed at the Sandals resort there and it was amazing! I absolutely LOVED Antigua and wish we could go back. The beaches are gorgeous - very very fine powder white sand. The only downside to it is that if you're into snorkeling the water is a bit cloudy because the sand is so fine that it gets kicked up easily.
We did a snorkeling catamaran excursion that was fantastic with Wadadli Cats. They pick you up by catamaran right at your resort. Then snorkeling out at Cades Reef, then unlimited rum punch and local beer, a delicious lunch on the boat, and then they dock at a private beach for a few hours and you can swim, relax, drink, snorkel some more. And then they bring you back to your resort via the catamaran (they kind of do a little tour of the homes of famous people along the coast and some other places as you're driving back). The crew was phenomenal and made it SO much fun and the punch and food were so tasty! It was one of the highlights of our whole trip. I'd recommend it 1000 times over!
We didn't do any shopping while there, but a few couples we met at the resort had mentioned that there was good shopping in town. One couple took the ferry over to St. John's one day for shopping and they said it was fantastic.
I cant help much on anything else since we stayed at a different resort, but we loved Antigua. The beaches are so picturesque, the weather was great, the PEOPLE are so nice, the food (I know this depends on the resort partially) was phenomenal. The airport is very small but we had no issues at all there and as soon as you get outside at the curb each resort has a stand with a big sign so you know where to go to check in and get your shuttle. It's run pretty well for a small island.
Enjoy! I'm jealous If we had the money I'd be back there tomorrow!
