Antagonistic IVF Cycle?
Has anyone done an antagonistic IVF cycle? I believe this is what the RE wants us to do. Basically I start injections right away and no Lupron. What are the pros and the cons to this vs. a Lupron Cycle besides the fact that the length of time is shorter from what I've read.
My last cycle was a Lupron cycle so I'm just curious. TIA

Yes...I have done an estrogen priming Antagonist cycle. One of the benefits of an antagonist cycle is that you are less likely to have a lead follicle problem. In addition, if you were over-suppressed in the past by BCP's and/or Lupron, you should not have those issues. Many RE's believe that too much LH which is what is in Lupron is a problem with respect to quality in those whom are poor responders.

Re: Antagonistic IVF Cycle?
I do not use bc or lupron, I start right stims on cd2-3, stim for about 10 days then trigger, er/et. For me I do not use the bc or lupron bc they both destroy my lining.

Re: Antagonistic IVF Cycle?
Can I ask, for those that have used BCP and Lupron, how long did you typically stimulate for afterwards? I am a very high responder, and tend to hyperstimulate, so I am really hoping that the double suppression helps. last time I only used Lupron, and wasn;t enough to suppress. Also, what does BCP typically do to your lining?

I have Polycystic ovaries but not PCOS so I also tend to respond very quick. My first IVF with Lupron I stimmed for I believe 12 days...28 eggs retrieved no BCP used.
