Another way to have PMI dropped.......
I found out this weekend that you can also drop PMI if your house is appraised 80% higher than what you paid for it.
Does that make sense or has anyone heard of it?

sure, that can happen - mostly though if you buy a house and then do improvements so that its appraised for more than when you originally bought it. Its unlikely to happen when you first purchase a house unless the seller is under extreme circumstances.

yea, its possible, but sadly unlikely. Unless maybe you completely gut it and then get it refinanced.
