another vitamin question
i had a prescription for prenatals called into the pharmacy yesterday but when i got there they said they werent covered under my insurance. I'm not paying $21 a month for vitamins..thats just ridiculous...
so, i have 2 questions: 1- are your prenatals covered under your insurance? 2-if you are not taking prenatals, what multi-vitamin are you taking and are the pills small? ( i bought cvs womens multivitamin and i just tried to swallow it and gagged twice..i cant get the big pill down)

Re: another vitamin question
mine are $30.00 under my insurance! ask your doc for samples or ask if there is a good non-script brand he knows.

Re: another vitamin question
Mine weren't completely covered. I had to pay $30/box! Ask your doctor for samples...mine always asks me if I need any...after I already bought a 3month supply at a time!

Re: another vitamin question
Mine are covered-I pay $10 a month for a 30 day supply. You should ask your Dr for samples and explain your situation. I know there are many girls here who take OTC ones. Good Luck!!

Re: another vitamin question
Mine are covered. I would ask your doctor if he could prescribe a different brand but maybe ask your insurance company first which ones they cover.

Re: another vitamin question
Mine are covered and I still pay $35 a month for them. It's the only one that never made me feel sick so I have stuck with them.

Re: another vitamin question
I have a $15 per box copay. The box is either for 5 or 7 weeks.
Talk to your Dr. and pharmacist or insurance and see if there is something your plan covers or an OTC alternative - although OTC can be expensive as well because you may need additional supplements.

Mine might as well not have been covered, I paid $40 for a month, but my Dr said that any OTC pre-natal is fine, but the pills are kinda big

I called my insurance when I found out mine were about $30.00 a month and they were able to find me a generic that only costs me $9.00 for a 90 day supply!

I do the same - my OB told me that most of the time pharmacies fill the Rx with generic brands anyway - which is the same thing that you get in the OTC ones. Take the free sample and compare the back to the back of the OTC ones - they are virtually the same
