another stupid question..
i have decided that i am not breastfeeding..i asked my pediatrician that i met with and he said i will prob want to use the formula that the hospital uses..do i need to have the formula before hand? and do i get powder or liquid? im going to babies r us..and im trying to get everything i would need for when i take the baby home..i guess im trying to be prepared in case i go early..thanks again girls..hopefully i will be a permanent on this board soon..

My DH and I went with a case of Similac Advance to start...we only bought one case because we were unsure if she would tolerate this particular one or if we had to switch.
when we interviewed the ped, he said it was our initial choice...I went with Similac because my little sisters used that one...
ETA: the hosital only sent us home with like 2 bottles as samples...

I would buy a can of powder rather than a case to see how the baby does on the formula. This site alone is enough to attest to the number of babies switching formulas.

I was going to say wait- the hospital sent us home with so much (and don't be afraid to ask for more)
I was only supplementing at first so I didn't really need much because I then switched to only bm, but when we made the switch to formula we had to go through a bunch before we found one she could tolerate.
