The cut off was the end of December for the 2010-2011 school year so you won't qualify until the followng. We filed in December and received the notice in April when the taxes were final.

The cut off was the end of December for the 2010-2011 school year so you won't qualify until the followng. We filed in December and received the notice in April when the taxes were final.
If TOH = Town of Hempstead, the deadline for the 10/11 School year was 12/31/09.
If TOH = Town of Huntington, the deadline for the 2010/11 tax year was 3/1/10.

I got a stamped post card when I dropped it off and was told to save it b/c it was my only proof that I handed it in. It was supposed to go through for the 12/09-11/10 tax year.
Well now, I just got a copy of my tax bill and it's not on there. I called and they had record of it but it was never put in. So now I have to wait 3-4 months to get a check back! 
The only thing that made me question it was that my mortgage payment went up $200 a month b/c there was an escrow shortage.
ETA - I'm in Town of Brookhaven

I'm in town of Oyster Bay--I didn't get anyting saying they received it, and when I called they said they couldn't tell me if they did! 
I filed in May 2008--I was grandfathered in under the previous owner for the 08-09 school year, and now its under my name for 09-10 and moving forward.

You'll know by April next year what you'll get for the 2011/2012 school year.
