Another shower question....
A baby shower. I received an invitation for a college roomates baby shower. She lives in Syracuse. The last time I saw her was in 2001 for another roomates wedding. So anyway, she and I do not talk on a regular basis - maybe a few emails a year and a Christmas card. I did not invite her to my wedding last year. So in a mean way I am thinking that she invited me just so I would send a gift??? Its obvious I am not going to go to Syracuse for a baby shower for someone who I barely speak to. Shes not even friends with our old roomates anymore so I wouldnt know a soul there. So the question is.....do I just send a gift or ignore the whole thing??? If I do send a gift its going to be a $25 GC - I dont care how cheap that is - I just cant believe she invited me!
What would you do????

Re: Another shower question....
I would not send a gift. I find it weird she invited you.
I invited a college friend to my bridal shower and i talk to her on a pretty regular basis and she lives out of state. She didn't come nor buy me anything, nor did i expect her to. I just wanted her to know she was important to me.

It seems like she's fishing for gifts if you haven't seen her in years and don't really keep in touch with her. If you send anything (I don't think I'd send something), $25 is more than enough.

Re: Another shower question....
Well you don't know for a fact that SHE invited you... it could have been a relative flipping through an old address book...
But I agree with the others, just send your regrets.

You know I should I mentioned that I noticed that she did invite me. The handwriting on the invitation and the envelope was hers.
I think I am just going to send my regrets. Thanks for your help ladies.

I wouldn't send a gift either. I hate when people fish for presents when they know you won't be able to go.

I would just RSVP no. If you havent seen someone in over 4 years, I wouldnt think a gift neccesary.
