Another question... re: registering
Lots of questions from me lately... DH and I were talking about taking a ride to BRU next weekend to start checking out some stuff... (I will be 15 weeks and we will probably wait until 20 to register). Just want to get some ideas and brands to check out. If we go to the registry counter, without signing up, would they give us a list similar to what bed, bath and beyond does to know what types of things we will need to register for? Other than some of the essentials we are kinda clueless

I'll bet they'll give you the list. Why wouldn't you just open the registry though? You can start out as slow as you'd like, adding only the things you know you'll absolutely need (onsies, receiving blankets, crib sheets) at first. I started at 16 weeks and didn't finish until about 30 weeks.
ETA: Check out Chicco, Peg Perego, Graco, Evenflo, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some...

Exactly. Also invest in the Baby Bargains book - it rates most (if not all) of the brands out there from maternity clothes to carseats and strollers.

And you may want to check with Consumer Reports as well for safety ratings! Happy registering!

Re: Another question... re: registering
I highly recommend getting Baby Bargains - it will really help you with putting together a list of things you need.
Also, ask any new moms what items they like best - I found that to be the best advice.
BRU should give you a registry checklist to help you out as well.
Lots of luck to you! Registering is a lot of fun - but a lot of work!
