Another potty training question- not there yet, but...
... DD doesn't seem quite ready to start potty training so I am not pushing the issue. I have learned with her, that if I push it, she will dig her heels in harder and freak out and that will be the end of potty training! LOL
But I have been doing some reading on here, online etc on techinquies for when we are ready, etc
I notice a lot of people suggest not putting them in any undergarments or bottoms for the days you want to go full out training...
When you do this, do you restrict them to one area? Almost my whole house is carpeting- except my kitchen and one hallway, and we have brand new couches, brand new everything. There is no way I want pee all over my couches and rugs. My DH would DIE! And I can't see her standing in the kitchen or hallway all day long. She would NEVER.
SO- how do you handle keeping your house from turning into a pee box when using this method of training?

I kept a portapotty in the den and watched her like a hawk. She had one accident on the rug and never again.

Re: Another potty training question- not there yet, but...
I just started this yesterday with DD. She is definitely ready! I ask her if she needs to go potty every hour on the hour and she goes. She even goes in between if she needs to. Only have had 1 poop accident but I must say I forgot to include poop when talking to her about going pee pee in the potty. After a brief talk, she has gone poop in potty too. So maybe if they are truly ready to potty train, they will not have as many?? I have no idea I am new to this too
It has been working here so far. My DD is 27 months old
Good luck!!

DS was in pull ups a long time. When I finally had enough, I got him underwear and said he wasn't allowed on the furniture. I set up his "special nap mat" and put a waterproof mat/pad on his little rocker. I ot a timer and asked him every 20 minutes if he had to go. He was very good.

I potty trained DD #1 in the summer, we played outside in my backyard stripped her from the waist down brought the potty outside and pushed water on her, LOL. Did this two days back to back for about 3-4hours and boom she was potty trained!

I am laughing bc we have started training my DD and it's so scary!! She is like a ticking time bomb running around with no bottoms on. I have the same fear as you. My DD has only had 1 accident so far and it was on a wooden chair.

Summer time too but they truly have to be ready. Otherwise it's a horrible experience for all.

Yeah trust me- -with my DD- if she isn't ready to eat dinner and we push it there is a huge debacle! So there is no way she will potty train a DAY before she is ready! LOL
She talks about the potty, will sit on it when i ask her to, loves to watch me go, etc. But she has yet to make one drop on it. Right now it's more of a game for her. That's ok though. No rush.
I was just thinking about the idea of her running around bare azzed when the time comes- and our new carpet and couches!
