Another PIO question
I've been doing the PIO injections for 5 days now and they hurt! I usually have a high pain tolerance and the other injections didn't bother me at all. I'm pretty sure we are doing everything right... the nurse checked the location and it was fine. My DH stretches the skin tight and injects the needle quickly, but it is still somewhat painful going in. I'm massaging the spot afterward and then applying heat, but I've still been getting so sore the next day.
I've seen some people say that they are easier than the subq shots or that they don't hurt at all, so I figure maybe we are doing something wrong. Also, If you've done them yourself did it hurt any less? Any tips????

Re: Another PIO question
Are you taking your weight off the leg on the side that you are injecting?

Yes...standing up, with my weight on the opposite leg. Maybe I should try laying down?

Re: Another PIO question
I have been doing them 8 weeks straight.. They hurt.. Sometimes not as bad and sometimes terrible.. Now being pregnant I think it hurts all the time even more.. I know what you are talking about but its not forever.. I hope tonight was my last one.. I did blood work yesterday to see if I can get off them.. Just think happy thoughts and its over in a minute..

Re: Another PIO question
If you follow my little tips below... I promise they will NOT HURT AT ALL!!!
I iced the area for 10 mins, while icing I had the PIO in the needle sitting in between a heating pad heating up, then my DH did the shot, then I would lay down on the heating pad for 10 mins! I never really felt it or felt any pain or soreness afterwards!
I also laid over the couch "doggie style" when he did the shots for me... That was entertaining by itself! hahah lol.
Good Luck!!!

This is exactly what I did as well- only I laid draped over my bed. I never had any black and blues or pain.
