ANOTHER... party question. envelope return address
sorry to keep bothering with these party questions. i just want unbiased opinions and not be "yes-ed" to death by my relatives
return address on envelope.
the party is a surprise party. if i put my home address on the envelope and there's an issue... the envelope would get returned to me
has anyone used someone else's return address to help keep the surprise a surprise?
i, of course, would ask the person's whose address i'm using for permission... would i then do something like this:
Marathon Knitter c/o Marathon Knitter's cousin 123 main st los angeles, ca
opinions, ideas, thoughts, best practices, emily post instructions...

I never thought of it, but yes, good thinking. You wouldn't want any of the invites getting returned to your house and ruining the surprise. I would use someone else and use the format you posted.

ANOTHER... party question. envelope return address
It makes sense to use a different address so the surprise doesn't get ruined by possible return mail.

Re: ANOTHER... party question. envelope return address
My only issue with that would be to wonder if people would be confused as to who's throwing the party/or where its being held if the return address wasn't yours.
What are the chances of any being returned? i.e. how many addresses do you have that you have questions about?

the party won't be at a private home, so all the venue info will be on the invite along with my phone number.
there are 4-5 guests whose addresses i'm not 100% sure about. i would hate for those to ruin the surprise factor.

I think if she put Marathon Knitter C/O Whoever
They will know she's hosting it.

Just use your name at the other address. C/o and another person's name makes it confusing.

I would do this as long as people know not to update their address book with this other person's address thinking you moved.
