Re: Another newbie question...

both pregnancies the first visit.. they confirmed pregnancy using urine, then did a pap smear, checked abodmin and then gave me script for the bloodwork and gave me a folder on pregnancy information like what to stay away from.

eta: also schedule me to come back around 6-7 weeks for sono to check for sac.

First off, congratulations!!! Chat Icon

Your first appointment, they will probably take all your vitals, do bloodwork (if they do it in office), confirm pregnancy via urine test, take a family history, go over your due date and answer any questions you may have. Every doctor is different but mine will go over what to expect, one trimester at a time so as to not overwhelm patients especially if it's your first child. They will probably do a sonogram as well.

Hope that helps. Chat Icon

THanks! B/c we're keeping this hush hush till probably next month some time... I have so many questions. DH keeps telling me we have to wait and I just want to burst. I'm sooo looking forward to the first Dr appt, which feels so far away.
