Another napping in swing question

We really try to limit this becuase it was a nightmare to break DD of the need for a swing to fall asleep.

Anyway, my question is, do you keep the baby swinging while they're napping? I always shut the swing off becuase I feel like it's probably not good to keep them swinging for an extended period of time. I just use it to get them to sleep then after 10-15 minutes I shut it off.

I remember when DD was tiny I had a family member babysit while I was at work. I had told them to shut the swing off once DD fell asleep but I'm pretty sure she didn't since she told me DD had napped for 4 hours (unheard of normally) and she actually had to wake her for her feeding. I've always been curious if most people just let the baby swing until they wake?

I always used to let DD swing until she woke up, even if it was 2-3 hours.

I always left it swinging. I didn't let DD take all of her naps in the swing though. She always took her first morning nap in there and sometimes her last nap of the day so most of her naps she was not relying on the swinging to fall asleep.

i left it swinging. Though for my next DC i will try to not use it as much because it was so hard to get DS to nap without that stupid swing!!!

I left it swinging (most of the times for 3-4 hrs!). In retrospect, it may have been a bad move, I'm not sure. I am having a HARD time getting LO to nap in general now, and I have no idea if that's bc of her early swing habit or not.

I gradually reduce the speed and turn it off once she is asleep.

She has slept in that thing all night, it's really just a comfortable bed when turned off.

I didn't like the idea of her swinging away for hours, although I think she would like it
