My mom was at the cemetary today visiting my Grandpa. He was a veteran but did not die in the service. She noticed a man with an armful of flags (at least 6-8) and he had already placed about 5. He appeared to have a list of where to put them. My mom thought maybe he was putting them down for all of the veterans so she went over to him and asked "are you placing flags down at the graves of all the veterans?" And he replied " Actually, I am a Vietnam Vet, I am putting them down at the graves of all of my friends who died in Vietnam because I don't want them to be forgotten" My mom was overwhelmed with emotion and just thanked him and told him to have a nice day...she didn't know what else to say.
