Another insurance question
DH is in the middle of taking another job and the new insurance is Oxford Freedom Plus (we have United Healtcare now!).
The thing is ..... does the new insurance going to cover the pregnancy cost?
Would it be considered a pre-existing condition?

Re: Another insurance question
as long as you were covered before, thee new insurance has to cover you now as far as I know.
If you were not previously covered, then it would be prexisting, and they could deny you, but it sounds like you are all set!

Re: Another insurance question
pregnancy is never considered a pre exisiting condition and if you had no break in coverage or less then a 63 day break from one insurance to the next, you will never have a pre exisiting condition clause to worry about.
no worries

no worries indeed.
I also changed insurance during the early part of my PG & panicked. This is exactly what I was told & so far no problems (knock wood)

Re: Another insurance question
I believe that in NYS it is illegal for an insurance company to deny you coverage when you are PG.

Re: Another insurance question
United and Oxford are basically the same company. My Oxford card says United Healthcare on it.

I work in health insurance and this is true. the law is that as long as you do not have a 90 day or greater lapse in coverage, insurance can not deny you for a pre-existing condition for any ailment.
