another food question
How many calories does your Dr recommend eating - first/ second/ third trimester?
Just curious- i am not looking to gain more than the "norm"... I really should have lost 20/30 lbs before ! (LOL) So what should i be eating now ? 1500 cal? 2000 cal?
You guys are going to be my Q&A board until the OB allows me to come in for a visit (9 weeks?) :)

I ate like normal - from what I've read, it says you need an extra 300 calories a day per baby, but I never calorie count. I make sure to snack healthy throughout the day, and then eat my regular meals.

another food question
I think it's around 300 extra calories in the 2nd and 3rd trimester. In the beginning you can just eat like normal. I ate pretty normally, although some days I've been extra hungry and other days I have a harder time eating and have less.

another food question
I ate normally. During my first trimester I was STARVING some days so I kept some healthy snacks at work (trail mix, baby carrots, greek yogurt, fruit, granola bars) to satisfy the hunger without eating junk.

This. I actually had a really difficult time eating throughout the first trimester. I ate what I could. I'm also definitely eating healthier. I was VERY overweight pre-pregnancy and have lost about 20 pounds. I *think* the weight loss is slowing, but I can't really tell.

This exactly. Everything I read said 300 more calories in 2nd and 3rd tri but I am not one for counting calories. I eat when I am hungry and make good choices 90% of the time. I definitely indulge more than I normally would (especially in sweets) and have really enjoyed that. I have gained 33lbs at 38 weeks so I am pretty happy with that (my doctor recommend I gain 30-35)
