another Dr. B question
for the Dr. B girls: how does his office usually handle telling you bloodwork results? i had quite a bit of blood drawn for PCOS/Insulin Resistance testing on the 18th at a Quest Lab....i figured since it was the holidays it would take a little longer. i called today for the results and the receptionist said she'd "look into it" and "somebody" would call me back. i didn't hear back all day.......should i call again tomorrow? email Dr. B? wait until my next appointment (1/4)?
thanks!!!

Re: another Dr. B question
If I was anxious for the results I'd probably email Dr.B since 1/4 isn't for another week. Good luck!

I can see why you feel that way- and I did too at the beginning- but really that's part of what his email is there for. Yes you don't want to abuse the privilege and email about every little thing, but if you're wondering about test results, I think it's fine to send him a quick email! I have emailed him about test results in the past even though it wasn't super urgent.
If it's about test results in particular though, you might be best off waiting till tomorrow during office hours. If he receives the email tonight, he probably doesn't have access to the test results.. I'm guessing..

have you called the office? i called this morning and Dr. B just called back and left me a message...of course i was in the shower when he called and didn't hear my phone he said my bloodwork is showing evidence of PCOS but added that it's minor and can be treated. since this is just the beginning of the process and testing for us i'm trying to stay calm....but i am curious to see what he'll tell me tomorrow. i hope you get your results soon! you should definitely call or email him if you haven't already

I did call about a week and a half ago and they said not all of the tests were back. Then a few days later, DH spoke to Dr. B for his SA results. Dr. B said my results still weren't all in and that we should make an appt in 2 weeks to go over everything. I am not sure if that means he doesn't plan to call me and is just waiting till we come in...which isn't til 1/6. I am anxious to know the results so I was hoping he would still call before that appt.

hmmmmm......if you are anxious (like i am!) you should definitely call again. i think he'll understand why you don't want to wait until the 6th. i'm kicking myself for missing his call but hopefully i can talk to him tomorrow. did you just start seeing him? we've been there twice and go back on the 4th for the immune/thrombo testing

Re: another Dr. B question
Don't worry about driving him crazy, thats why he gives out his e-mail and cell phone number. If you really want answers e-mail him. I felt the same way about calling or e-mailing him too when I first started to see him. I even called him by accident when I was out at some soap opera function. I called his cell instead of the office and hung up when he picked up. I felt bad but he never said anything even though I know my cell phone number came up. If he doesn't e-mail you back then def call tmorrow and speak to one of the nurses.

just saw him for the initial consult and then he sent us to get the bloodwork and SA so we haven't been back since.
good luck!!!
