Another Disney question

We think we've decided on the days for what, but wondering a fee things:
1) do people advise fast pass for any of the Star Wars stuff?
2) did your kids tend to want to do toy story ride at HS more than once. Folks advised me to get to HS first thing at opening for toy story then get fast pass to go on again later?
Plus I'm thinking we only do half day at HS? My 6 year old will like it but I'll also have 18 month old twins - I hear nothing much for them except people watching? I'm nervous about keeping them around for even half the day there.
We r going middle of May.

3) can you leave a park and return later to same park w the one day admission ticket? Or need park hopper? Again- same park. Thinking if we leave to go chill at hotel but want to come back for dinner.
TIA!
This board is so helpful!

Re: Another Disney question

1. Not sure about the Star Wars stuff.

2. You can try doing TSM at rope drop but you have to get there really early so you can position yourself to be one of the first ones in the park. TSM has terrible capacity and I've heard many stories of people who got to HS at 8:45 thinking they were 15 minutes early but by the time they actually got to the ride the wait was already an hour.

TSM is fun and all but I personally think it's overrated. But that's just me. The crowds show I'm in the minority. What's nice about it is that it's good for all ages to enjoy together.

I would agree the HS could easily be a half day park these days. If the twins like Disney Jr. then one of you could take them to that while the other takes DS to Tower of Terror. DS loved that last year - he still talks about it. That is, assuming your DS outgrew Disney Jr.

3. Yes, you can leave and return to the same park in one day. No hopper needed.

I agree about TSM.

Another way though you can get there early is have breakfast at Hollywood and Vine and then head straight there as soon as it's done. We've done that before.

My 6 year old loves HS. We actually spent the longest day there the last time we were there (we did MK over a few days though so it's hard to compare). I know a lot is closed now but, he really enjoyed it a lot.

If it's important to do a meet & greet with the Star Wars characters then I would definitely do a FP for them. We were there at a traditionally slow time and the wait times for Chewbacca and Kylo Ren were anywhere between 45-90 minutes.

I will say that the Star Wars fireworks at HS were some of the best fireworks I've seen at Disney. It is a really good show.

TSM is definitely over-rated in my opinion. We were there for a week and in and out of HS a lot. Each time the wait was over 90 minutes. We didn't go on it this trip at all. I believe the third track is open now, which may alleviate the wait time though.

if you 6 yo is into star wars... DEFINITELY get there early so you can sign up for Jedi Training. My son did it last year at 4, and LOVED it!! still talks about it 6 months later HAHA you get there bf park opens, and there will be someone with a sign. they lead you to where you can sign your child up for jedi training. basically, you pick a good time for you to go back later in the day- its like a 30 minute thing- the kids get to "fight" either darth vader, or darth maul or one of the other "bad guys". the SW meet and greets are new since we went, so not sure how the lines are for those. Star Tours ride is fun... but that line seems to move ok so you might be ok without a FP.... i THINK HS also still has al the disney jr. stuff- meet and greets, the disney jr live show- so that might be fun for your younger ones....

Re: Another Disney question

We went to Disney a few weeks ago. Jedi training was super fun and cute. We got there at rope drop and still had to wait about 30 minutes just to sign up. We got the 12:15 slot. The people who got there earlier must have been in line way earlier than actual rope drop time!

We got FP to Star Wars, Frozen and Toy Story Mania. Don't think we needed it for Frozen since the theater was so big. We ended up not using the Toy Story Mania FP because we got such a late time slot for our jedi training. It overlapped exactly with our FP time.

Sci Fi restaurant was cool and the food was pretty good.

We didn't stick around until 8pm but the new fireworks are star wars themed.

When we were there, meet and greets for Chewbacca were 30 minutes and we went there right after we signed up for jedi training. I imagine they would go up to an hour depending on what time you go. I know we waited about 45 min on a previous trip to meet woody and buzz.
