Another Disney Poly question...

Hello. I just booked the Polyesian for our December trip. Someone told me that we are better off staying at the Rarotonga or Niue building and that second floors do not have balconies. Does anyone have any input or informationthey can provied? Thanks so much.

Re: Another Disney Poly question...

MOST buildings at the Poly
don't have balconies on the 2nd floor.

Someone probably suggested Niue and Raratonga because they are so close to the volcano pool, ceremonial house etc. BUT I would probably not stay Niue. It's the smallest building with onlky 2 stories (therefore NO balconies) and no elevator *gasp*

Re: Another Disney Poly question...

I am not one of the Poly's many raving fans. There are a lot of people who know every detail about the Poly.

The buildings I hear about most from Poly lovers are Tahiti and Tokelau

yes that is true but there is a walkway between Roratonga and Niue and you can use the Roratonga elevators. The elevators at the Poly buildings stink anyway because they are these tiny little boxes. People in wheel chairs could barely fit in them. The GCH one is nice and big though.

Re: Another Disney Poly question...

I haven't stayed there, but I feel like it would defeat the purpose of staying the most intimate building to have to go next door for the elevator.

tikimanpages is a great resource!

I've stayed at the Poly several times, never in the same building. Honestly I wouldn't stress too much which building you get unless you have some special needs with mobility issues or something. All the buildings are gorgeous and special in their own way and you will love staying in any of them!

Re: Another Disney Poly question...

We stayed at the Samoa building a few months back and loved it. We were overlooking the volcano pool and had a sideways view of the lagoon. We also had a balcony. We were also steps away from the main building.

All the buildings are great and the tikiman page someone mentioned above gives a good breakdown of where each longhouse is and what might be best for your needed.

Have fun!

The elevators are a joke anyway. We had our city mini double and DH and I were plastered to the walls to get into it with the stroller. We had to take 2 trips to get into it with our carry on bags. We saw groups with a wheelchair and they had to split up because they couldn't fit into it. They are really tiny. The one in the GCH was fine though - just the ones in the buildings.
