annual checkup cost
Just wondering what the usual cost of your dogs annual checkup is. My sis took her two dogs for their shots (got 4 vacs), and bloodwork and it came to $500. Is that alot? It seems a bit much to me but our pup is only 11 months so I don't know much about the annual exams.

Re: annual checkup cost
That seems like a lot, but I'm not sure if it goes by size of dog or not.
At Dottie's annual last year, I *think* we paid around $150. The office visit was $48, and each vac was around $26-30. The Heartworm blood test was around $25 and we picked up a prescription for the heartworm meds as well.
She's a 12lb Cairn Terrier.
ETA: If you are concerned about cost, I know that Petco offers low-cost vaccination clinics.

Re: annual checkup cost
My vet charges about $250 with all vaccines and checkup - including nail trimming. This does not included the Frontline and Hearworm pills
I just take her to the vet for an annual checkup now - which cost $60 and I go to Petco for the low-cost vaccines which was $125 including a years worth of heartworm pills. Still have to pay seperate for the Frontline.
