Anatomy Scan Questions
My anatomy scan is on Monday and the wait is killing me! This will be the first weekend that I hope flies by.
Am I supposed to drink water before the scan? And should I have something sugary to make sure the baby is very active? It's at 8am, so super early in the day.

Anatomy Scan Questions
I wasn't told to do anythiing special before my scan. When I went the baby wasn't overly active and not cooperating. They couldn't get a good look at his spine, so I had to go back a week later for another sono. The second time I drank a glass of OJ and he cooperated much better! I would say drinking a glass of OJ before you go can't hurt.

Re: Anatomy Scan Questions
I wasn't given special instructions. I was just told to empty my bladder right before like with every other sono I get. The babies weren't overly active so they were easy to scan.

Anatomy Scan Questions
Empty bladder will feel better! It's an external sono so no need to have your bladder full. Plus by now, the baby is big enough it's not like they need a full bladder to distinguish between your ovaries and your bladder.
Keep well hydrated in the days leading up to the scan. That's more important than drinking a lot of water that morning.
If for some reason the baby has his/her parts covered, a trick is to drink some OJ or (my favorite) HiC a few minutes before the test and it'll help them start to bop all around so one minute the parts will be covered but then you'll get a clear view.
Have a great time!!! Can't wait to hear the result!!!

Anatomy Scan Questions
Mine is this afternoon at 415pm (not that im counting down the minutes or anything) and they didn't tell me to do anything special. I've been drinkig a ton if water though and even had a small cup of coffee this morning, so if the baby is feeling as jittery as I am right now, I think he/she will be moving a lot! I know I can hardly sit still!!!

THIS! I went with a full bladder (like the 12 week scan) and she told me to go to the bathroom first. I WAS much more comfortable.
Good luck!!!!

Depending on the baby you may need to do it internally too. I did and was told to empty my bladder.

so jealous. mine was supposed to be tomorrow at 8am, but i changed it a few weeks ago because i didn't think i'd want to get up that early on my day off. i'm so wishing i hadn't done that.
