An IVF question
Since I am starting right now I have some questions about the meds I was prescribed. It seems you all take so many and I always thought with ivf that was the norm.
I am taking Lupron, and started CD21 (will take the entire time every day), once I get AF I am to cut my dose in half. My first monitoring appt is Dec. 16th, I guess at that time I start follistim, then the only other meds I take are the ovidril trigger shot and some sort of progesterone sup after the transfer.
That seems so little to me, plus I didn't take BC pills or anythihng to begin. Is this normal?
I am in a clinical trial and when I was with Doctor I didin't go crazy with the questions because I was too excited and surprised that I even made the trial.
Thanks!

Re: An IVF question
i dont think its the trial...everyone just has a different protocol. My cousin did the same meds you are going to be on and she didnt do any kind of trial.
you can always call your RE or nurse and ask for the reason why you're on those meds. good luck!

Re: An IVF question
I think lupron is in place of BC. I also had a friend who took follitism as her main medication. You just have to trust the doctor you chose!

Re: An IVF question
Thanks, I know it is different for everyone and it makes sense, suspress and then grow, but it seems so few meds and I always thought there were a lot more involved at a minimum.
I guess because getting this trial was unexpected and came about within a few weeks I didn't really have time to do much research!
