Just had my amnio and will have preliminary results tomorrow! Needed to also get a rhogam shot!
It's a definite though that baby has a club foot
Does anyone have a dc that was born with this?

Re: Amnio/ feedback
I don't have any experience with this but I found this on club foot:
A newborn baby's club foot is first treated with applying a cast because the tendons, ligaments, and bones are quite flexible and easy to reposition. The procedure involves stretching the foot into a more normal position and using a cast to maintain the corrected position. The cast is removed every week or two, so as to stretch the foot gradually into a correct position. Serial casting goes on for approximately three months.
In 30% of cases, manipulation and casting is successful, and the foot can be placed in a brace to maintain the correction. In about 70% of cases, manipulation and castings alone do not correct the deformity completely and a decision will be made concerning surgery.
The type of surgery depends on how severe the club foot is. The deformity features tight and short tendons around the foot and ankle. Surgery consists of releasing all the tight tendons and ligaments in the posterior (back) and medial (inside) aspects of the foot and repairing them in a lengthened position. Metal pins may also be used to maintain the bones in place for some six weeks. Surgery usually involves an overnight stay in hospital. After surgery, the foot is casted for some three months, followed by the use of a brace to hold the correction. The brace is worn for approximately six to 12 months after surgery.
I'm hoping everything is ok, please keep us posted!

Re: Amnio/ feedback
for your baby!
I knew someone in college who was born with two clubbed feet and he was FINE! He had a surgery to correct it and was an athlete in college.

Re: Amnio/ feedback
I am so sorry you are going through this. How do you know it is definite the baby has a clubbed foot? Did they do a certain test? I know if they do an ultrasound they have to look at so many angles to make sure it is.
A clubbed foot is very fixable with braces and other things. It can be fixed in 6 months. My friend was born with a clubbed foot and you wouldn't even know. Mia Hamm (the soccer player) and Christina Yamaguchi (olympic ice skater) were both born with one and look at them. I know it isn't easy and you want your child to not have to deal with anything but this is fixable. Hang in there. Lots of prayers the amnio comes back good.

Re: Amnio/ feedback
It's definitely clubbed, the right foot :( but the left is perfect. They confirmed on level 2! And again yesterday at amnio. It's pretty bad , we are just praying it's not a deeper issue. We will see what is to follow! Thanks for your kind words

Re: Amnio/ feedback
I am so sorry I know my story is different but figured I would share. My DD doesnt have clubfoot but her tibia's are internally rotated, so her legs were turning in ALOT when she would try to walk or cruise. It was pretty severe so her orthopedic reccommended a Dobbs Dynamic Clubfoot Bar for naps and bedtime and I can't believe what a difference it makes!! I believe the bar is known especially to correct clubfoot though (which is why I am mentioning it-it may be something your doctors recc for your LO later on). Just wanted to share that I see a great difference with this brace I am sure the medical interventions out this day and age will help your LO greatly!!!
