Amnio??
No. I am over 35 and did not have one. I would have only gotten one if the NT SCAN OR AFP came back positive which it did not.

No you do not. You don't have to have any of the screenings.

Amnio??
I turn 35 in August and no one has said a word to me about having to have one. If everything is fine, what is the point.

Re: Amnio??
Nope. It was offered to me but I refused it. I saw no need to have one since all of the other standard testing came back normal. I turned 38 a week after having my DS. They can't make you have an amnio anyway, that is your choice to have one or not.

Re: Amnio??
I'll echo what eveyone else has said - No, you do not have to. I was 35 with my first and now 40 with my second. The first, my doctor basically told me to wait until after the screenings and if they saw an issue, we could discuss the amnio or CVS test. I REALLY did not want one (honestly, more the needle in my belly than concern over miscarriage for me.) Numbers came back great so we opted against it.
This time, I had the Materniti21 test which is a genetic test that they do through a blood draw. So easy - and 99% accurate. If you feel like you want more assurance but are nervous about the amnio, I'd ask your doctor about it. Mine acutally told me he thinks it may make amnios pretty rare (I think there are some other things amnio can test for that the blood test wouldn't show - but I'm note really sure.)

I'm 40. It was offered. I declined b/c (like OP said) all my blood work and scans came back normal. Its a personal choice. If it gives you peace of mind so you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy then maybe consider it. A less evasive test is the MaterniTY 21. Its a blood test that gives same results as an Amino. Good Luck with whatever you choose :)
