Ammnio fluid?
I went to he ob yesterday I'm 33 weeks preg. On bed rest and procardia i wentintopre term labor at 29 weeks. I stop the procardia at 25 weeks and the dr said there is a good chance she will comeatanytimeafter that cause i have only.4 cm left to my cervix. My growth soon showed yesterday that my Wighs about 5 pounds already.
With that history my question is ....they mentioned that they were gonna keep an eye on my ammniofluid cause its at 23 which they said was ok nothing bad but when its 25 and over they tend to get a lil worried? Well thTs onlytwo numbers away So just when. Thoughtallwasgood i hear this ? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Re: Ammnio fluid?
Try not to worry -- excess amniotic fluid is just something they monitor and it can change dramatically from week to week.
I had excess fluid aka polyhydramnios starting from 18 weeks thru the entire pregnancy. I think I peaked at the measurement of 32!
In the end, the only thing that happened with my fluid is that when my water broke, it was like niagra falls.
I swear the docs will tell you something else to freak you out and make you worry...when it is likely just going to be fine.

Re: Ammnio fluid?
I have a pretty similar story to you...
I'm 29 weeks 4 days. Back on bedrest and Procardia. Went yesterday, and my cervix went down to 2.6 from 3.3 a few days ago. AND they said my amniotic fluid is a bit low. I don't know the number, though.
They said the medicine I was on (Indomethacin) could cause the low fluid level. I'm off Indomethacin Mon-Fri and will go back on the weekends. But the fact that I took it for a week prior to my appointment yesterday could cause the low fluid level. So could dehydration, so I'm drinking more than I've ever drunk (drank? lol) before. Hopefully, my amniotic fluid level will go up by the time I go back to the doc Friday.
I was considering trying to lay out for a bit today to get some color while on bedrest, but scratched that since this heat is dangerous for preterm labor/dehydration. I'll be pale for baby's sake!
Stay in the a/c and drown yourself with water!!
At least we know we're in it together!!

Re: Ammnio fluid?
my amnio fluid ranged from 23-28 or so.
I had GD, but it was controlled, so they weren't too concerned (I was also told that my water breaking would be quite the gush!)
I went into labor at 37w6d but DD never dropped because of all the water - and they couldn't break my water so I ended up with a C.
Good luck!

Re: Ammnio fluid?
Sorry to hear your back on bed rest ....it sucks trust me i know....beenon strict bed rest since 29 weeks ( most girls on here have been on longer ) but to me it feels like an eternity. I know i feel like my husband is constantly putting a glass in my hand when he passes me by lol. Sometimes i feel like im gonna float away. I was on indocine but after 32 weeks they stop it...so far the procardia is helping i think anyway. Well put your feet up crank the ac n try to get through another day toast...cheers!
Im glad to hear everything was ok with your baby after delivery i saw her pics you posted n she is beautiful! ::

Thanks! My DH is the same way... lol.
I'm confused by some of the other posts... why would someone with low amniotic fluid "gush" when their water broke? I would think the opposite??
Good luck to you and stay cool! And cheers to you, too (the smiley icon is drinking water in this case. lol)

if you have a number of 23 -- and they are making sure it doesn't go to 25 ... then you are approaching the "excess" amount. anything 25 and over is considered to be something they want to monitor.
for me, I had a serious crazy gush when my water broke. i didn't think that much fluid could come out of me, and continue to come for the next couple hours. less than 2 weeks before it happened, i was measuring at 32. so i was definitely high.
not sure if a gush happens for all women with excess fluid, but that's how it happened for me.
