Amex Points
What do you get with your Amex points? What do you think is the best deal?
I have had my card for over 2 years and have never used them.
I could get over $300 worth of gift certs to The Olive Garden

i am not sure if amex points are the same as Discover and Chase, but they let us use our points as a credit to our cc balance, they us a $1.00 credit for each point

We usually convert them to airline points to get free flights.

Home Depot $100 gift cards... if they still have them.
It was a 1:1 ratio when I was using my amex. Good deal.

do they give you 1 point for every dollar you spend?
then they will credit you back that?

I am confused
I think it's the reverse you get 1 point for every $1 you spend.
I wish it was a $1 for every point I'd be loaded in more ways than one right now  .

I think you get the most bang for your buck with gift cards....I used some of my points for Christmas gifts this year since money was tight.....got my sis a giftcard to Benihana, my MIL a gift card to Bath & Body Works, and FIL one for Home Depot. I think I'm going to use the rest of our points and get about $500 in gift cards for Home Depot and then use it to pay for the molding we need in our dining room! with Amex its usually 5,000 points for a $50 card. get some gift cards and go shopping!

My Amex is affiliated with Hilton Honors points, so we always use our points for free hotel stays.
In the past year we've stayed 3 nights in PR, 4 nights in San Fran, 5 nights in Barbados and 2 nights in Boston.

Love the Hilton Honors Amex, I use it for everything. We have gotten a ton of free rooms. Last year, we got 1 night in Seattle, 2 nights in Chicago, 2 nights in Newport, RI, 1 night in Mystic CT, and 1 night in PA. This year, we will already be using it in April for 3 nights in New Orleans.

For the holidays I cashed them in and got 3 $25.00 GC's to Bath & Body Works & 3 $25.00 GC to Barnes & Noble. They definitely came in handy for Christmas gifts!!

I have the Jetblue Amex... it's the best!
You get "trueblue passes" - which are good for flights and there are NO restrictions.
