Amazing

You know how you always hear these amazing stories of IF. The ones that always start out with …..Well, a “friend of a friend" who went through IF for 10 years, 12 IVFs, finally adopted and then bang got pregnant right after blah blah. Well, I never believed those stories, until now.

Someone I personally know, who struggled with IF for over 5 years (She was given single digits!) had several IVF’s and finally DID get pregnant with twins. 9 months after they were born, she is now pregnant with twins AGAIN, unexpectedly, no IVF, no drugs, all ON her OWN !!!

Ok, I am a believer.

Hang in there ladies, miracles REALLY do happen everyday.

Re: Amazing

I know a couple who tried for 2 years and had 3 ectopic pregnancies and only had half a fallopian tube.
Their only other option was IVF. they had it and were successful with twins.
5 years later they managed to get pregnant again (not planned) and had a perfectly healthy rowdy little boy Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Amazing

I'm really starting to think that there is no true infertility problem with any of us.... our problem is that we are all just dying to have a baby Chat Icon And it's like everything else, when you want something too much it doesn't happen Chat Icon I think we all have to just stop wanting it so much and focus our attention on something else Chat Icon Who knows, it might just be that simple Chat Icon But how does one stop thinking about it???????

What a miracle!! I love hearing stories like these! My DH has a coworker who tried for a long time and were told they would never get pregnant naturally. They adopted and a few yrs later had 2 children naturally.

Re: Amazing

Sorry, pet peeve of mine.

I hate the idea of waiting for a miracle.

I tried long and hard (2 years total, 1 year with every possible measure...trying, not trying, OPKs, BDing every day, every other day, ect.) prior to seeing my RE. Then, we had done a ton of interventions before IVF.

I don't think I would have gotten pregnant without IVF.

I think pregnancy after pregnancy with IVF is more common (perhaps a blockage opens or something gets rotated) than pregnancy after 5 years of trying with no luck.

A friend of mine gave me the best advice when she said "don't wait too long": she had IVF after over 6 years of trying. Now she has a beautiful little girl.

Miracles are great, but false hope is a killer.

Both of you are absolutely right... Noone should just wait around and hope it happens to them if there are other means available to them, but its always nice to know that they can happen.

I have to agree with this....

There is no way on g-ds' green earth I would have gotten pregnant on my own without IVF the first time.

There was also no way I was getting pregnant on my own again without the same intervention.

I know for a medical/scientific fact that my only problem was NOT as simple as I wanted a baby badly.

Please don't misunderstand... It warms my heart to hear these types of stories. And to read stories of natural "surprise" pregnancies after having a pregnancy by going through IF treatments, but I know for ME, for MY situation, that would NEVER have happened.

I am not waiting for a miracle; I am pursuing any and all avenues available to me in helping me in this process. In no way was I implying that I am anti medical intervention. I am ALL for any pill, doctor, needle, procedure that will bring me closer to having a child. I do not live in a fantasy world, I BELIEVE I too have real issues and need IVF, and am well on my way. I too shudder when I hear people say "ohhh just relax, then it will happen!" I am not naive or new to this. On this board, I encourage women trying only for 6 months to go see a RE, and not waste time.

This post was simply, me wanting to share a true and happy ending story. There is lots of negativity in our lives right now, and I wanted to post a “positive” post. I am sorry if it came off any other way and peeved others, that was not my intention. Nor was it my intention to offend anyone seeking medical help, as I myself am at the 2 year mark of this struggle and working with a RE. In the end, it IS in God’s hands, doctors can only bring us so far, I.e., my dx, Unexplained Infertility, so I do stand behind what I said in my post and miracles Do happen. I wish everyone here well on their journey and lots of
