Am I turning into a mean old lady??
whoops
I have about 5 kids playing (jumping) on their scooters in my driveway, and leaning on my car.
I really want to tell them to go beat it - because they know they were told not to do this in our driveway before
Am I wrong for telling them to go across the street and do it in their own driveway??

no not at all because if they get hurt you can be sure the parents will be looking at you to pay the medical bills!!
tell them to play on their own property

ITA. You have your ogwn family to worry about without worrying about damae and liability from a bunch of other people's kids.

I am VERY sensitive about my car.
That is YOUR property.

Make your car alarm go off. This scares them b/c they don't know what to do and then they try to blame each other, depending on their age. Then tell them to beat it.

nope! not at all! if they got hurt on your property, who knows what would happen! plus, you have to worry about your stuff and your safety.
we had the same thing in our neighborhood. our yard backs up to woods and has a stream that goes through it. one day, there were kids playing in the stream on our property, climbing down the rock wall to get to it... god forbid one of them slipped on the wet rocks and cracked their heads open!!! AND whats worse, is that i work at the local school, so these kids know me from school, but didn't know it was my house. so i made DH go out and yell at them- hes scarier anyway  LOL gotta do what ya gotta do!

HECCCKKKK NO!
My dad didn't want to be one the old mean man. So he let the kids do it. Then one of the kids fell off her scooter and the handle bar went in to my moms brand new benz.
The mom came down and said "oh leave it to my kids to put the first scratch in the car some compound should get it out"
My dad was like you can't do this anymore and the mom called him grouchy

If you are than I am too.
I had 2 kids who live across the street from us playing catch in our driveway one day The boy was standing in front of DH's car catching the ball his sister was throwing.
I went out and told "hey guys, don't play in our driveway, please take it to the street" and they did. But the kicker was, their father was outside washing his car in THEIR driveway watching them AND we live on a DEAD END!
If I were you I would tell them to leave before they get hurt or break something on your car.

I agree....that is what I do when someone is near my car....I set the panic button off and I LOVE seeing them jump
