Am I the only one with this problem?

As much as I really want to like them, I find NY & Co clothes to be so unflattering on me. I went today and tried a ton of things on. Either they fit wrong, or they are way to thin and show every bump. Maybe my body is a weird shape, but I don't have nearly as many problems with any other brand.

No, not alone. I was there a month ago...tried on tons of stuff and walked out empty handed and depressed (with myself).

Then I went a wk ago, a diff NY & Co. had a little help from a friend of what looked good and walked out with two pants, and two shirts and all was a great fit.

I was actually IMPRESSED by the pants. They fit so nice- coming from them who in the past, had weird fits, like old ladyish and now cater to a younger crowd.

Then I go back today to get more...and walked out again. Im going to avoid that one I go to all the time. its not doing well with me


Just not impressed with their styles lately.

I honestly always found their clothes to be poor quality- but their prices are always high for the quality you get.
I stopped shopping there.

The pants always seemed to pill, shrink, fade.
Things never fit me right; sizing was inconsistant.

I like the style of a lot of their stuff, but I just feel the quality for the money is not worth it

Money-wise I have done well with coupons/sales there, but I do view their clothing the same way I view Old Navy these days-- totally disposable. You can get one season out of their stuff... they do not wear well at all. Good for cute tops on sale that you don't expect to still be wearing next year, kwim?

One of the few really worthwhile items I've gotten there (in terms of quality and flattering fit) is a pair of casual cargo pants I bought 2 years ago. For some reason they wear SO well and have an excellent fit. The jeans do not flatter me at all.

I do like NY & Co for accessories, the earrings are often BOGO and the stuff is pretty cute.

ETA-- Their vanity sizing is such a joke too. I'm a size 4 in almost all stores/brands. At NY & Co, the size 2 is actually kind of big on me. Come on, who are they trying to kid here?

Thanks, everyone! I was so upset. I was ready with coupon in hand to spend some money and came out with nothing!

I used to shop there in the late 90s & early 2000s, in recent years I found less & less stuff was working for me.

I also used to try on a lot & not buy anything. My mom used to be me gifts from there & I would always return them. Part of it may have been that the quality changed, but my size changed to & I found myself between sizes on a lot of their tops. The one closest to me closed down, so I don't go out of my way to shop there now.

I can never just go in there and buy off the rack without trying everything on.

Just recently I had a gift card to spend there. I wound up having to buy a pair of pants 2 sizes bigger than what I normally wear, but was able to buy a dress 2 sizes smaller than what I uusually wear. I bought 2 of the same exact shirts in the same exact size, just different colors and wound up having to return the 1 I didn't try on in the store- one fit great, the other was skin tight.

So, no, you are definitely not alone!

i agree that the quality has gone downhill while the prices have gone up.

I also have to try on EVERYTHING, even the same cut pants/tops run differently in different colors.

I used to be able to go in there and find something for the occasion I needed it for - now, not so much. i don't have a new favorite store, either!

I think their clothes were a lot better a few years back...I have some black slacks that I bought about 5 years ago and wear them a lot and they still look and feel good. The stuff I bought from them recently...ehhh...I didn't try it on beforehand and I kind of regret not returning it.
