Alternative to Vaseline
All the "beby necessity" lists have vaseline on them. I *detest* petroleum jelly...are there any alternatives out there?
And what exactly is this petro jelly used for?

many people use vaseline instead of desitin or other diaper creams.

I hate using vaseline on DD I stopped and only use desitin.

When the baby is brand new, their poop is really gross and sticky - like tar. Putting Vaseline on the clean diaper helps with the clean up afterwards.
But that only lasts for a few days, and then you really only need it for taking the temperature...but I read you can use KY for that as well.
