Well food allergies they can test sooner (like milk protein, etc.). I was told they can't diagnose asthma etc. til over a year or so.

I think for food allergies at least 6 mths +....we knew already but waited until her 1 yr appt for all the testing.
Asthma isn't usually diagnosed until 2 yrs or so.

neither, i am trying to figure out if i need to. my dh is always congested and someone i know said she may be allergic to the dog.

My ped told us a lot of people think babies are congested, but they naturally sound that way since their nasal passages are so small. He told me that since I won't be around to see Andy when he's a senior citizen, now I know what he'll look like when he's bald, no teeth, and snorting all the time.

My son was tested at 10 months because he had severe congested and they thought he had a milk allergy. It's a simple blood test. He's not 11 months and has to go back because I think he's allergic to something that they didn't test for.

I'm not sure about what age but my pediatric allergist (I go to one in Glen Cove) saw Mikey at 6 months. He broke out in a WAY funky rash/hives and was tested for a whole bunch of allergies.
