Allergies!!
It's so bad. My 5 yr old DS is waking in the middle of the night itching his eyes. They're all puffy. We do see an allergist and he's on strong allergy meds that does really help, but it's around 4 - 5AM it's his worst time. Once he's up in the morning and after he blows his noses and sneezes a few dozen times he gets his meds (24 hours it lasts) and he is much better by the time breakfast is over. I try eye drops and the allergist says to really wipe his face and eyes bc that's where it's worse. I can see how red his eyes get. We're outside all weekend too between sports and the fact it's so beautiful out. Anyone else's child suffering?

Re: Allergies!!
Seasonal allergies landed my son in the ER a few weeks ago. It was so bad his airway was swollen.. He was on Claritin and stopped taking benadryl 2 days before the ER visit..
He is now on Nasonex allergy nasal spray (which has made a HUGE difference), 12.5mg of benadryl (crushed tablet), and Claritin... His eyes started to bother him Saturday afternoon. Very itchy and red. We were outside for a couple of hours on Saturday and that is all it took to set him off. Yesterday he needed an extra dose of allergy meds. Today he woke up with a cough... I just ordered two air purifiers for my home... I can't keep him locked up all spring/summer..
