all new mommies

How often are you feeding your babies? Emma is a week old and we are feeding her every 3 hours. Does your baby wake up for feedings or do you wake them?

Re: all new mommies

My DD is 6 weeks old and I feed her every 2.5-3hrs during the day and then she sleep for about 6-7 hours at night

The doctor told me when she was first born that I had to wake her up to eat but that was because she was losing weight

Re: all new mommies

I am breastfeeding, and she eats every 2-3 hours during the day with several longer periods (4+ hours!) when napping well...I don't wake her up ever (not that I could if I tried!)...my doctor feels it is fine as long as she is eating at least 8 times during each day and has enough wet/soiled diapers...

Taylor is 8 weeks old and she eats between 3-4 hours. Sometimes at night she sleeps a little longer and misses a feeding

Christopher is 10 days old and he eats about every 2.5 to 3 hours. At night I usually can get 4 hours out of him if he drinks 4 ozs of formula.

Ainsley is 12 days old and breastfeeds every 3 hours or so - we supplement with formula at night.
