All-inclusive Rec in Carribbean
My cousin and I want to go away for Memorial Day Weekend to an all-inclusive. We don't want to spend too much money or go to far but we want to enjoy ourselves and get a few days of relaxation. Any recommendations?

Re: All-inclusive Rec in Carribbean
I am curious to hear suggestions as well.
We recently visited our travel agent, who recommended Cancun. Riu Palace Las Americas was pricing at just under $3K for the two of us, all-inclusive.
ETA: This was for a week in June.
ETA: Not all-inclusive, but as a long weekend get-away I would definitely recommend the El Conquistador in Puerto Rico. Prices on CheapCaribbean.com were pricing at about $1k, including airfare for 2, at their lowest room category. We stayed in the La Marina Village last year, which was gorgeous and would only add a couple of hundred dollars to your total price. Meals and drinks can get expensive, but if you decide it is a place you may be interested in, FM me and I'd be happy to share some money saving tips. We always like to try someplace new, but we are tempted to go here again; it was awesome!

Go to the Dominican Republic. There's too much going on in Mexico right now, even my travel agent told us to wait it out. Punta Cana is lovely, and you can get some good deals. There is a Riu there, Paradisus is lovely.

I would stay far away from Mexico right now! Your travel agent should also tell you the same thing! Look into the Dominican Republic or even Aruba has all-inclusive at the RIU, Occidental and Holiday Inn (which they just renovated)!!!

Why should anyone stay away from Mexico assuming they aren't visiting border towns?

It was on the list of places not to go by Homeland Security. There have been drug fueds, murders and kidnappings. It doesn't just happen by the borders either, Cancun has rapes, look at what happened in Acapulco to the american couple that was killed when their daughter was in the backseat! I personally wouldn't go there! I think the only place I would go is Cabo!
