alaska vacation
anyone ever been? DH and i were considering giving my mom money for a trip...but have no idea what a reasonable price it. It appears a 7 day cruise would be about $1000 and a 14 day is double. but then there is also the flight and activities.
is 7 days enough or would she need to do 14 days? anyone have any ideas on a ballpark figure?

I went to Alaska last year but didn't do a cruise. We stayed a B&B in Anchorage, rented a car and just traveled each day. I think we were there for 5 days. It was really great. Sorry I don't have any experience with the cruise.

Definitely do as many days as possible for an Alaskan cruise. The longer the cruise, the further north you get to travel, and the more you get to see. I went on a 12 day Alaskan cruise several years ago and loved it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the cost was (my parents paid) and have no idea what a good price would be now. I've always done very well booking through directline cruises, so maybe check them out for pricing and compare to some other sites.
